I (Andy Lambert the Webmaster) attend my first breakdown in 1965 and I 'stayed out there' until the early nineties, when I retired from NRG, to concentrate on MTS.  

I took this photo of Brian Gasson, because it summed up so much of what the poor recovery man has to go through. The Surrey Commit carried the picture with the caption.
