RTA Picture Gallery One

The following pictures were in the main, taken during the period 1975 -1985 and reflect some of the many recoveries I attended, on and around the A3 London and Surrey.

The scene right, shows a typical multi vehicle RTA of the time. The recovery vehicles were there soon after the police and all five casualties would have been recovered within minutes.

Now that is something to ponder on today, when you are next stuck for two hours, waiting for a garage to clear the motorway in front of you.

Note the lack of 'Rubber Neckers' on the other carriageway. Not so good however is the fact there are just 3 Florescent Jackets being worn by all the official services.

Warning: This galleries contain a collection of accident pictures, mainly taken by the webmaster during his time at Cambridge Coachworks and National Rescue. We would like to say that no one was seriously injured in these incidents, but regrettable that is what usually happened with the sort of RTA's we were called to.
