This picture of the Brooklands Belle outside MTS's then head office The Control Tower Brooklands, was often used for publicity. The Belle was the last recovery vehicle designed by this webmaster (Andy Lambert), in 1988. I commissioned Gordon Jackson (brother of Bill) to build it.

It was ahead of its time and had many unique features for the time, such as control position on the flybridge, which gave visibility, as well as protection in the event of a snapped cable. Decked Amber lights for better all round visibility. Remote Control of all functions, Fore and Aft winches. The middle axle lifted to increase lifting capacity (if you don't understand why, you need to have a word with Archimedes). 

The Belle is one of the few Vehicles to be repainted into the new colour scheme (see below) and today lives with my old friend Bob Hunt and his Boys.
